Welcome to The Battery, website of the artist and friend to robots, Greg Broadmore.

During the day he works as an illustrator, writer and conceptual designer for Weta Workshop and has designed for the motion pictures: District 9, King Kong, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Black Sheep amongst many, many others.

Through Weta Workshop, he is the creator and designer of Dr. Grordbort's world of Rayguns and contraptions.

It's not all roses and lollipops though - he worked on the feature films, Halo and Evangelion, both of which fell over during production, but there are no surviving documents that prove that it was his fault.

He is also known as a designer of public art like Riff Raff - the Richard O'Brien tribute sculpture in Hamilton, NZ, and the Tripod - screen industry sculpture in Wellington, NZ.

To top this off he has written and illustrated as well as drawn in the margins of many books. For instance, he worked on The World of Kong: A Natural Histroy of Skull Island and wrote and illustrated Doctor Grordbort's books: Victory and Doctor Grordbort's Contrapulatronic Dingus Directory all on his own like a big boy.

He has been known to accept freelance work when he has time, so feel free to drop him an email. Just don't be surprised to get an email back filled with swear words; he is a known potty mouth.
